Skype introduces Personalise Skype Powered by Qpass

Skype will deploy Qpass` flexible Content Delivery Platform


Luxembourg and Seattle (pts023/29.09.2005/11:24) Skype, the pioneering Global Internet Communications Company, which makes it possible for anyone with an Internet connection to make free high-quality phone calls to anyone worldwide, today launched Personalise Skype, letting Skype's 55 million callers show off their individuality with sounds, ringtones and pictures.

Qpass, whose software provides the fastest path to profit in digital media commerce, will fully manage the Personalise Skype storefront, including content sourcing and management.

Available now at http://personal.skype.com, the Personalise Skype service allows Skype users with the latest version of Skype for Windows 1.4 to download pre-recorded voice clips and sounds to use as a ringtone or to customize any of the default sound events in Skype . There is also a wide variety of pictures and avatars. Today's launch continues Skype's expansion of its premium services following its recent announcement of Skype's Voice Services Program which will offer callers free and chargeable content over Skype. Personalise Skype will join Skype's other premium service offerings which boasts more than 2 million customers.
