Freiburg Once Again at the Centre of the Solar Industry
Freiburg (pts042/25.05.2005/15:00) Intersolar 2005: Europe's largest industry fair for solar technology Freiburg, 25th May 2005.
At the end of June, once again, the decision makers of the international solar world will be meeting in Freiburg, Germany. From 23rd to 25th June, Intersolar will take place at Messe Freiburg for the 6th time. A total of 360 exhibitors from 20 different countries will be presenting their new products and services in the areas of solar power, solar heat and solar architecture. In June 2004, 290 exhibitors attracted 15,000 experts to the fair in Freiburg, almost 20% of whom came from abroad. Intersolar is the largest European solar technology fair. It is organized by Solar Promotion GmbH and Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG, Messe Freiburg.
With a newly installed output of 360 MW and a market growth of 140%, Germany became World Champion in photovoltaics in 2004. In addition, the Germany photovoltaics industry achieved sales of 1.7 Billion Euros last year. Intersolar 2005 reflects this positive trend with a rise in the number of exhibitors by 25% compared with the previous year.
The 17,000 m^2 exhibition space and 360 exhibitors make this year's Intersolar the biggest ever, covering the entire range of the solar industry. National and international manufacturers, suppliers, wholesales are equally presented here in Freiburg.
A total of 28% of exhibitors come from abroad. In addition to the latest trends, experts can expect an interesting conference and framework programme. This year's highlight is the 2nd European Solar Thermal Energy Conference estec2005, taking place in Freiburg on 21st and 22nd of June.
