Zurich (ptp026/13.08.2021/11:00) With Rita Scherrer-Jenni, the art festival SWISSARTEXPO in Zurich gains a new participant with outstanding style. The passionate artist convinces with a repertoire of diverse art styles, which she lovingly designs down to the finest detail. Her fascination today is mainly with oil painting, in which she captures emotive and poignant scenes. Every emotion, the special atmosphere and the precious beauty of all things come to life in her first-class works.
Born in 1955 in Langenthal, Switzerland, Rita Scherrer-Jenni grew up in beautiful Basel and currently works as a freelance artist in Rodersdorf. Her artistic career is impressive. Already as a teenager, she expressed her creativity in many different forms. From clay work, to craft techniques, to drawing in nudes and painting, the artist was magically drawn to the almost limitless variety of art. At the same time, she was involved in trends in social and cultural life, especially during her stay in San Francisco from 1987 to 1989. This was followed by an intensive study of painting, especially the works of Impressionism and the art movements that followed.
After completing her art studies successfully, she started her professional career and has since been represented at numerous renowned exhibitions throughout Switzerland. She recently achieved an important step in her career as an artist with the acceptance to the "XIII Florence Biennale 2021", where she will present her artworks to an international audience for the first time from October 23 to 31, 2021.
"See the world with different eyes" is Rita Scherrer-Jenni's credo, which she is looking forward to share with the audience at this year's SWISSARTEXPO in August. The creator finds inspiration for her reflective and thought-provoking artworks in the emotional and social experiences of the human and its existence on this earth. Rita Scherrer-Jenni uses her talent and excellent skills to reveal a very special and new approach to life. In each painting and drawing there are impressive depictions of sceneries that deeply touch the viewer. They are captured so poignantly that one cannot escape their depth and linger in their sight. Abstraction together with representational painting is an integral part of her pictorial compositions. They often combine stylistic elements of both forms of expression, which she develops spontaneously. Her works show a certain state of suspension between seemingly familiar and, in turn, completely free form and color elements.
Visitors are given an even deeper insight into her work with her new art catalog, in which an exciting selection of her works can be found in high-quality print.
