Frequentis AG: Strong growth in revenues, order intake, and earnings in H1 2026

Vienna, Austria (pta007/11.08.2026/07:46 UTC+2)

  • Revenues +44.8% to EUR 342.9 million
  • Order intake +17.0% to EUR 361.7 million
  • EBIT rose to EUR 15.6 million, up from EUR -4.3 million in the prior-year period
  • Strategic reinforcement of the MCX portfolio by taking a majority shareholding in Nemergent
  • Revised outlook for 2026 confirmed

"The development of our business in the first half of 2026 was very satisfactory. The high demand for our solutions for safety-critical infrastructure and the early achievement of many project milestones that were originally planned for the second half of the year resulted in a significant rise in revenues and earnings," reports Frequentis' CEO Norbert Haslacher. "With orders on hand of EUR 835 million, we have an excellent basis for the ongoing development of the company."

Orders

Order intake in the Frequentis Group increased by 17.0% to EUR 361.7 million in the first half of 2026. The development was particularly positive in the Air Traffic Management segment. Orders on hand exceeded EUR 800 million for the first time, rising to a new all-time high of EUR 835.0 million.

Strategic development of the portfolio

Alongside organic growth, Frequentis has strengthened its market position in mission-critical broadband communication. By increasing its shareholding in the Spanish MCX specialist Nemergent Solutions S.L. to 51%, Frequentis is expanding its MissionX ecosystem and creating additional growth opportunities in the public safety, critical infrastructure, defence, and railway sectors.

Employees

The average number of employees increased to 2,895 full-time equivalents (FTEs), a rise of 13.6% compared with the first half of 2025. About 45% of staff were employed in Austria.

Revenues

Revenues rose 44.8% to EUR 342.9 million. Growth was entirely organic. The Air Traffic Management segment grew revenues by 59.4% to EUR 263.4 million, and revenues in the Public Safety & Transport segment were 11.2% higher at EUR 79.5 million. Regionally, Europe accounted for 48% of revenues and North and South America for 39%.

Equity and net cash position

Equity rose to EUR 202.0 million as at end-June 2026, and the equity ratio was 38.1%. The net cash position increased to EUR 107.4 million, underscoring the Frequentis Group's continued solid financial position.

Earnings

EBIT was EUR 15.6 million, compared with EUR -4.3 million in the prior-year period. This was because in the first half of 2026 numerous project milestones were achieved earlier than originally planned, shifting revenue and earnings effects from the second half of the year to the first half. This shift in the normal seasonal pattern resulted from the accelerated execution of some major projects and cannot be considered sustainable.

Outlook

Following the upward revision of the revenue forecast in July, Frequentis is confirming its guidance for the 2026 financial year and aims to achieve the following targets compared with year-end 2025:

  • Increase revenues by about 15%
  • Increase order intake
  • EBIT margin of around 7.0%.
