Frequentis AG: Estonia leads Europe's transition to digital NOTAM services with FREQUENTIS

- Estonian Air Navigation Services (EANS) has gone live with Digital NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) services using the Frequentis CADAS product suite
- One of the first operational digital NOTAM implementations in Europe

Frequentis and EANS have successfully brought Digital NOTAM services into operational use with the Frequentis CADAS product suite. The deployment positions EANS among the first air navigation service providers in Europe to operate Digital NOTAM services.
This milestone reflects the growing momentum of digital AIM across Europe and the industry's transition from traditional text-based information handling to a fully digital, integrated aeronautical data environment. By enabling structured, machine-readable aeronautical information, Digital NOTAM services improve safety, operational efficiency, and the seamless exchange of information across the aviation ecosystem.

"Together with Frequentis, we have established a modern digital AIM capability that enables us to provide faster, more accurate, and more consistent aeronautical information while preparing for future air traffic management (ATM) concepts."
The implementation provides EANS with a common AIXM-based digital aeronautical data foundation for the efficient creation, management, and distribution of Digital NOTAM information. It also lays the groundwork for future concepts such as SWIM-enabled information exchange and Trajectory-Based Operations (TBO).

AIXM (Aeronautical Information Exchange Model) is the international standard for modelling and exchanging digital aeronautical information. It provides a common data format that enables aviation systems to share accurate, consistent, and machine-readable aeronautical information.
System Wide Information Management (SWIM) is the aviation industry's framework for securely sharing digital, standardised information between air traffic management stakeholders in real time. It enables seamless exchange of aeronautical, flight, weather, and surveillance data across systems and organisations, improving interoperability, situational awareness, and operational efficiency.
Trajectory-Based Operations (TBO) is a next-generation air traffic management concept that uses shared digital flight trajectory information to improve the predictability, efficiency, and safety of air traffic operations.
