Riverbed "Leader" im Magic Quadrant für WAN Optimization Controller (WOC)

Riverbed zum sechsten Mal in Folge im "Leaders Quadrant" positioniert


Wien (pts021/16.05.2013/11:30) Gartner hat das Application-Performance-Unternehmen Riverbed Technology als einzigen Anbieter im "Leaders Quadrant" seines neuesten "Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimization Controllers" positioniert. Insgesamt wurde Riverbed damit zum sechsten Mal in Folge in diesem Quadranten platziert. Der Bericht, der von den Autoren Joe Skorupa, Mark Fabbi und Bjarne Munch im April 2013 veröffentlicht wurde, teilt die Anbieter anhand ihrer Vision und der Fähigkeit, diese umzusetzen, in vier "Quadranten" ein - Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries und Niche Players. Laut dem Bericht beziehen sich "aktuelle Innovationen auf Formfaktoren und Plattformen mit WAN-Optimierung, die sich zu leistungsfähigen Plattformen für Zweigstellen oder einer optimierten WAN-Cloud hin entwickeln". Weiterhin "zeigen Leader die Fähigkeit, durch die Einführung zusätzlicher Funktionen in ihren Produkten den Markt zu formen und das Bewusstsein für die Bedeutung dieser Funktionen zu fördern. Wir erwarten, dass Leader den Markt als Ganzes voranbringen und Lösungen anbieten, die bei einer wachsenden Zahl von Unternehmen auf Zustimmung stoßen. Leaders im WOC-Markt müssen zahlreiche Funktionen anbieten, einschließlich QoS, generische Kompression, Protokoll- und Dateisystembeschleunigung, die sich in ihrer Mehrzahl in umfangreichen, realen Implementierungen bewährt haben. Sie müssen außerdem in der Lage sein, Vertrieb und Support auf globaler Ebene anzubieten".
