Micronas posts revenue and profit losses

Swiss semiconductor manufacturer Micronas http://www.micronas.com has announced that it has got off to a difficult start in 2005, with consolidated net sales for the first three months amounting to 193.1 million Swiss francs (124.7 million euros), 13.8 per cent lower than in the previous quarter. As the company reports in a press release on its website, profits fell to 7.84 million francs (5.1 million euros), or 0.24 francs (0.15 euros) a share. In the first quarter of this year, the company's EBITDA totalled 36.4 million francs (23.7 million euros), or 1.15 francs (0.74 euros) a share. This represented a fall of 37.1 per cent compared with the fourth quarter of 2004.
