In works such as Strawberry and Apple, Keijer employs the traditional technique of egg tempera, enriched with gold leaf gilding, to elevate the everyday into the timeless. Each composition is precise, centered, and contemplative—evoking a near-sacred aura. The subtle gleam of gold draws the eye into a state of still attention, where light doesn't just fall on the object, but seems to emanate from within it.
