Bahrainian telecoms company Batelco http://www.batelco.com has signed a 9 million Bahrainian dinar (18.1 million euro) contract with Telecom Italia http://www.telecomitalia.it to provide high-speed leased circuits between Bahrain and Italy for the next three years. As the Gulf Daily News http://www.gulf-daily-news.com reports, Batelco successfully bid against eight leading international telecommunications companies.
