Zurich, Switzerland/Miami (ptp024/28.11.2019/13:00) - Dear Journalists,
With his Paintscreen project, Zurich artist Giuseppe Buzzi is entering new artistic territory by not painting via, but rather on the screen. It is a novelty. Never before have screens been used for oil paintings.
His monitor paintings also contain a message. Children - and not just children - look at screens all the time. Buzzi's art suggests that the flood of images is interrupted, and a screenshot painted in oil can be viewed in peace - as a 'Paintscreen'.
By transforming a digital medium and giving it an analogue purpose, a whole new, intriguing, and in-depth perspective is enabled, that makes the viewer think.
With this art Buzzi is creating a new atmosphere, a new situation, which he wants to question and explore as an artist.
The Paintscreens are Upcycling: Environmental awareness is the measure of all tings here. Painting monitors or recycling them - the decision was easy.
The Paintscreen project consists of more than a dozen monitors, all painted in 2019. They redefine offices and are especially surprising in other rooms.
Zurich: Many Paintscreens and eight paintings of the former project "reduce to the max" (eight paintings on a smaller sized canvas - usually Buzzi's artworks have much bigger dimensions) will be shown at the ARTBOX.GALLERY in Zurich from 24 to 30 november 2019.
Miami: The Paintscreen "Blumengeburt" is among the 10 finalists of ARTBOX.PROJECT Miami 2.0 and will be exhibited from the 2nd to the 8th of December 2019, in the Miami art district Wynwood in an incredible gallery right next to the Wynwood walls!

Buzzi, born in 1949 in Varese, Italy, started painting at the age of twelve. In his painting, he aims to depict the ease displayed by children. His figures float playfully and embody the revelations of his childhood. His most recent works feature light and colorful painting on canvas in mixed media. He has given a name to this style that he has invented: neo-romantic expressionism.
