- Equipping Belgian police, fire and medical emergency centres with Frequentis LifeX for faster, more coordinated emergency response
- Creating a future-ready foundation aligned with emerging European emergency communication standards
- Helping citizens access next-generation voice and text-based communications in an emergency
ASTRID, the communication provider for Belgium's emergency and security services, has selected Frequentis to deliver its LifeX communication platform as part of the nationwide ComHub modernisation programme.
The project will strengthen how emergency calls are handled and responders are dispatched, helping police, fire, and medical services deliver faster, more coordinated support across Belgium.
"Frequentis brings proven expertise in delivering mission-critical communications for emergency services. Through ComHub, we are creating a modern communication environment that will help emergency centre operators support citizens even more effectively today while preparing Belgium's emergency services for the challenges and opportunities ahead," said Christophe Grégoire, CTO, ASTRID.
The platform is designed to meet upcoming European NG112 standards, including supporting real-time text, changing public communication habits, and broader accessibility needs. It will also support a seamless path towards ASTRID's future Mission Critical Services (MCX) network, supporting the evolution of public safety communications in the years ahead.
To support both the people who call for help and the teams working on the front line to protect communities across Belgium, ASTRID is investing in proven technology from Frequentis to create a resilient foundation for emergency response.
"This project is about ensuring that emergency services can communicate and collaborate effectively. Together with ASTRID, we are building a future-ready environment that strengthens emergency response across Belgium," says Thomas Pilsl, Frequentis Senior Vice President Public Safety.
