Austria / United Kingdom / Canada (pta017/12.08.2021/09:00 UTC+2) * Acquisition of L3Harris Technologies Inc. ATC Solutions business unit and Orthogon extends Frequentis Group's technical solutions for air traffic control (ATC)

* Frequentis is now to deliver the Main Voice System for UK air navigation service provider, NATS, Deploying SESAR Project

"The acquisition of the ATC Solutions business unit of L3Harris was strategically important for Frequentis. Whilst it strengthens our air traffic management (ATM) portfolio, it also results in Frequentis taking on the responsibility for the Main Voice System and Arrivals Manager System for NATS. We have always valued our position as a key supplier to NATS, but this project moves our relationship to a significantly higher level. We have always worked well together, and we now appreciate the opportunity to be a core part of the Deploying SESAR Project", says Frequentis' CEO Norbert Haslacher.

The L3Harris purchase agreement was signed on 23 February 2021 and closing of the ATC Solutions business unit took place on 28 May 2021. The new entity operates under the name of Frequentis Canada ATM and the acquisition extends Frequentis' technical offering, adding an even broader range of solutions to its extensive ATM portfolio. It further strengthens Frequentis' position as a global supplier of ATM communication solutions, especially for large IT-based systems. The NATS Main Voice System project will continue to be delivered from the Gatineau facility in Canada and will be supported by Frequentis UK local staff and staff at Frequentis Headquarters in Vienna.

"NATS has had a long and successful relationship with Frequentis and I look forward to that continuing and strengthening going forward. The supply of a new voice communication system is one of the most vital parts of our technology transformation programme and working with skilled and trusted partners like Frequentis is integral to us delivering the best possible service to our customers," responded Tim Bullock, NATS Director, Supply Chain.

About NATS

NATS is the UK's principal air navigation services provider and is split into two main businesses, which provide two distinct services:

* NATS (En Route) plc (NERL) - the regulated business, which provides air traffic management services to aircraft within UK airspace and over the eastern part of the North Atlantic; and

* NATS (Services) Ltd (NSL) - the unregulated business, which provides air traffic control services at many of the UK's major airports (13 civil and 7 military airfields) and other airports overseas.

NATS provides aerodrome, data, engineering, capacity, efficiency and environmental performance solutions to customers worldwide, including airports, airlines, air traffic service providers and governments. NATS handled 661,000 flights in the UK in the last financial year (2020/21), a reduction of 73% reflecting Covid-19 travel restrictions.
