Zürich, Switzerland (ptp027/30.07.2019/14:00) With his impressive painting "Alaverdi" the artist Gela Philauri managed to convince the jury of the ARTBOX.PROJECT Zürich 1.0. His work was selected as one of the 100 semi-finalists and will therefore receive a special digital presentation at the large Swiss art festival SWISSARTEXPO, which will take place from 15th to 19th August 2019 in the venerable Zurich Main Station Hall.
The Georgian artist earned an international reputation mainly thanks to his magnificent landscapes, pencil drawings and portraits. His works show in a unique way the peculiarities of his homeland, Georgia. For the region from which the artist comes is characterized not only by the distinctive and rugged landscape, but also by the many architectural influences that range from the Stone Age to the present day. In his work, the artist knows how to guide and captivate the viewer's gaze through his complex play with light and shadow in an incomparable way. Not only landscape paintings, but also impressive portraits are part of the artist's work.
Gela Philauri is a highly respected contemporary painter, especially in his native Georgia and Russia, but it is no surprise that his works are also highly regarded and appreciated in the USA, Great Britain and Italy.
Philauri has also recently published his first art catalogue. It contains 24 pages of various of his typical works. In addition to Philauri's works of art, this catalogue will also be on display at the SWISSARTEXPO. "We are convinced that Gela Philauri's catalogue will be extremely well received at the exhibition and look forward to receiving the feedback of our visitors," explains Patricia Zenklusen, CEO of SWISSARTEXPO, on request.
