UMT United Mobility Technology AG: UMT launches AI-based 'Catchflow Agent' for automating EU catch documentation (CATCH)

München (pta031/21.04.2026/13:30 UTC+2)

UMT United Mobility Technology AG (UMT), the well-known provider of AI-based solutions for automating business processes, is launching the Europe-wide go-to-market of its AI solution for the EU fish import processes CATCH and TRACES in European goods imports, effective immediately.

The solution, called "Catchflow Agent," is based on Agentic Vision AI — UMT's proprietary technology stack — and consistently expands the scalable platform portfolio toward an industrialized SaaS model.

The background to this is the mandatory use of CATCH in the EU's TRACES system for the electronic submission of catch certificates and related documents, effective January 10, 2026. This measure to combat illegal fishing is mandatory for companies; with over 1 million cases each year, the volume is very high and the workload immense. The countries most affected are Spain, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Portugal.

This is exactly where UMT comes in. The solution, called "Catchflow Agent," automates the complete capture and classification of catch certificates, health certificates, cargo manifests, and other supporting documents, handles their transfer to the EU's TRACES system, and enables automatic traceability and validation using external data sources such as MarineTraffic, vessel databases, and other sources.

This transforms a process that was previously highly manual, time-consuming, and error-prone into a digital and reproducible workflow. The solution enables extremely simple onboarding for all users, regardless of whether they handle a high or low volume of documents. UMT's proprietary "Deterministic Guardrail Technology" ensures the highest level of accuracy in operation.

"We launched our Agentic Vision AI platform to combat bureaucracy, which hits small and medium-sized enterprises particularly hard. This is also the case in this example: a measure that is actually intended to prevent illegal fishing is leading to immense operational challenges for importers, processors, distributors, and logistics companies across Europe," says Erik Nagel, CEO of UMT. "This is exactly where we come in, by automating the entire workflow almost entirely, which saves costs, reduces errors, and facilitates compliance. We are very pleased to be able to help companies in the European fishing industry reduce bureaucracy."
