Russian companies not allowed .eu names
Russian firms only able to use domains if they have subsidiaries in the EU

Russian companies will only be able to get .eu names if they have branches and subsidiaries in the European Union. As the Russian news and information agency Novosti http://en.rian.ru reports, the European Internet domain .eu will be launched in later 2005 by the non-profit organisation EURid, the European Registry for Internet Domains. 500 million potential European candidates for the new domain will converge in a "gold rush" for the prestigious new web address.
