Experienced industrial executive to support the Group's next phase of growth and scaling, with a focus on industrialization, automation and operational excellence

Montana Aerospace AG, a leading supplier of system components and complex assemblies for the aerospace industry with engineering and manufacturing sites worldwide, announces the appointment of Dr. Christian Preslmayr as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Group.

As the company communicated earlier today via an ad hoc announcement, following the resignation of CEO Kai Arndt in April, the Board of Directors has further developed the Group's Management structure and expanded the Group Management Board. Chairman of the Board DDr. Michael Tojner has been appointed Executive Chairman with immediate effect and will also become a member of the Group Management Board.

Christian Preslmayr will assume the role of COO effective September 1, 2026, reporting directly to the Board of Directors of Montana Aerospace AG. By strengthening its Group Management Board with the newly created COO function, Montana Aerospace is responding to the next phase of its industrial development.

Over the past several years, the Group has invested approximately EUR 800 million in building a highly vertically integrated production platform for the aerospace industry. Following this development and investment phase, the focus is now increasingly shifting toward industrialization, automation and the scaling of the structures that have been established. Rising build rates across Aviation, Defense and Space offer significant growth potential while simultaneously creating new demands in terms of efficiency, productivity and speed.

Christian Preslmayr will drive the Group-wide operational strategy, strategic project and crisis management, and the optimization of the Group's site and production structure, while systematically advancing automation. His core responsibilities will also include managing key investment decisions and further developing the Group's investment strategy. In addition, he will be responsible for global procurement and for strengthening the Group's technological leadership in state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.

Christian Preslmayr will also advance cross-divisional performance management and the consistent implementation of Operational Excellence and Lean Management methods. The objective is to make optimal use of Montana Aerospace's existing capacities and vertical integration, thereby creating a strong industrial foundation for the Group's next phase of growth.

Christian Preslmayr brings more than 40 years of international leadership experience in plant and mechanical engineering as well as industrial manufacturing. Since 2015, he has served as Chief Executive Officer of Alpine Metal Tech Group, a manufacturer of plants and special-purpose machinery for the steel, automotive and aerospace industries, with a particular focus on automation, robotics, and camera and laser applications. Prior to this, he served at Voith GmbH as Senior Vice President Global Operations (COO) and member of the management team, where he was responsible for the global operations, procurement and Operational Excellence activities of Voith Paper Fabric & Roll Systems, encompassing 41 operations in 18 countries. Preslmayr holds a degree in mechanical engineering, a Mag. (FH) degree in Business Administration, and a PhD in International Management from Pan-European University Bratislava/Vienna.

"With Christian Preslmayr, we are gaining an internationally experienced industrial executive with proven expertise in automation, robotics and industrial scaling. For more than ten years, he has held entrepreneurial responsibility as CEO of Alpine Metal Tech within our industrial group and has played a key role in the company's successful development. His many years of leadership experience and proven expertise in scaling industrial organizations will be instrumental in unlocking the full potential of Montana Aerospace's integrated production platform and making automation and Operational Excellence key growth drivers for the Group," says Michael Tojner, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and member of the Executive Management Board of Montana Aerospace AG.

"Montana Aerospace has established an impressive position as a vertically integrated one-stop-shop supplier to the aerospace industry. I am very much looking forward to working with the team to further industrialize our manufacturing sites, systematically expand automation and take operational excellence to the next level, enabling us to reliably meet our customers' increasing build rates," adds Christian Preslmayr.
