Anti-CD-burning technology tested by Sony
In order to curb CD copying, Sony has launched 1 m discs with copy protection

Sony BMG http://www.sonybmg.com has released about 10 commercial titles with an anti-CD-burning code onto the market in order to curb CD pirating and copying. The discs were developed in the United Kingdom by First4Internet http://www.first4internet.co.uk , an anti-piracy company, and feature special technology that allows limited copies of discs to be made, but bars copies being made from copies - what's called 'sterile burning'.
