Montana Aerospace continuously strengthens its CNC machinery as part of its vertically integrated business model and invests in the future of the aerospace industry
Montana Aerospace is pursuing its investment strategy and significantly expanding its global CNC machinery. In doing so, the company is responding to growing demand in the aerospace industry while further strengthening its technological leadership and unique vertically integrated business model.
Currently, Montana Aerospace operates around 330 CNC machines* worldwide – and continues to invest consistently:
- Vietnam: Expansion to more than 70 CNC machines by 2026.
- Romania: The strong machine park will be expanded by 15 additional units by 2027.
- Germany, Belgium, and the USA: Newly installed CNC machines in 2025 strengthen production capacity and manufacturing expertise at these sites.
"The aerospace industry is growing dynamically – and Montana Aerospace is investing to shape its future. By expanding our CNC capacities and strengthening our one-stop-shop, we are driving innovation and securing our position as a reliable partner for the global aviation and space industry", says Kai Arndt, Co-CEO of Montana Aerospace.
Integration as key to competitiveness
Within the Montana Aerospace one-stop-shop, machining is a key element that unfolds its full potential as part of the integrated set-up. This approach ensures not only efficiency and quality, but also flexibility and resilience across global aerospace supply chains and delivers a clear decisive difference for the company's customers.
Technological edge for aerospace
From structural and landing gear components to engine parts, Montana Aerospace covers a wide range of highly complex components. State-of-the-art 3-, 4- and 5-axis high-speed systems, long-bed and multi-spindle machines enable the production of large-format parts with tolerances of up to 0.0001 inches – a decisive factor for safety, performance, and durability. With this, the company meets the highest standards of civil and military aviation as well as the space industry.
In addition, advanced robotic systems support production processes, ensuring greater efficiency, consistency, and quality across all manufacturing steps.
Tailor-made CNC technology
Montana Aerospace also relies on tailor-made technology: CNC machines are developed specifically for the company's requirements. Combined with in-house production of tools and fixtures, this approach ensures maximum precision, efficiency, and flexibility in manufacturing – and secures a decisive competitive edge.
Global investments in manufacturing expertise
With contracted sales of more than EUR 7 billion and investments of over EUR 750 million in the past years, Montana Aerospace is purposefully strengthening its global sites and continuously developing its integrated one-stop-shop. Targeted investments – such as in CNC capacities – underpin this strategy and ensure the ability to reliably deliver on increasing customer demand in civil and military aviation as well as the space industry.
Focus on sustainability
In addition to growth and precision, Montana Aerospace is also committed to sustainable manufacturing through energy-efficient machines and recycling processes.
At the Romanian site, the chip management system has already been converted to a closed-loop process: chips are collected, compressed, and returned to production through remelting and recasting. This ensures full recyclability, maximizes raw material recovery, and lowers both waste and CO₂ emissions. Other Montana Aerospace sites are now following suit, further underlining the company's commitment to sustainable and resource-efficient manufacturing.
With its latest investments, Montana Aerospace not only expands its machining capacities but further strengthens its integrated business model – securing its role as an innovation leader and reliable partner for the global aerospace industry.
*CNC (= computer numerical control) machines enable high-precision machining of complex aerospace parts.
