Software AG: Software AG issues its guidance for the fiscal year 2023

Darmstadt (pta048/31.01.2023/19:30 UTC+1)

The Management Board of Software AG (MDAX®, ISIN DE000A2GS401 / SOW) announces the guidance for the fiscal year 2023 following the finalization of its operating plan for 2023 and its subsequent approval by the Supervisory Board of Software AG.

Based on the Company's operating plan for 2023, Software AG's Management Board provides the following outlook, including StreamSets, (at constant currency):

  • In the Digital Business segment, Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) is expected to grow between + 10 to + 15 percent year on year.
  • In the Adabas & Natural (A&N) segment, ARR is expected to develop between - 2 to + 2 percent year-on-year.
  • Product revenue is expected to grow between + 6 to + 10 percent year-on-year.
  • Operating profit margin (EBITA, non-IFRS) is expected to be in the range of 16 to 18 percent (stated figure).

The vast majority of bookings now come from subscription and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) licenses and contribute directly to ARR. Therefore, bookings as a guidance metrics have been replaced by ARR which is a more accurate reflection of the future cash flow.

The 2023 operating profit margin guidance reflects a positive impact from revenue growth and a cost efficiency program as well as a temporary negative impact from cost increases and strategic decisions related to Cloud and A&N subscription.
