Zumtobel Group AG: Zumtobel Group appoints Marcus Frantz Chief Digital Transformation Officer

Dornbirn, Austria – Until now the Management Board of the Zumtobel Group consisted of three members and will now, during the ongoing financial year, be extended by a fourth member: as of 1 November 2022, Marcus Frantz will assume the position of Chief Digital Transformation Officer (CDTO) in order to further advance the Group's digital transformation. The Supervisory Board had already announced the planned expansion of the Management Board at the last Annual General Meeting in July 2021. The new Management Board member is appointed until 30 July 2025.

Most recently, Marcus Frantz (57) was CIO (Chief Information Officer) at the ÖBB Holding AG. In this role, he was responsible for the development and implementation of the digital business strategy ("Connected Mobility") and its related corporate IT strategy. During this time, he initiated, among other things, the establishment of a digital booking platform in cooperation with the Management Board of Rail Cargo, which has led to significant improvements in efficiency and customer satisfaction. Additionally, Frantz was most recently also Managing Director of the intra-group service provider "ÖBB-Business Competence Center GmbH" for the departments of information and communications technology (ICT) and innovation.

Prior to that, in his role as Group CIO of the OMV Group, Frantz was responsible for operational IT management, the corporate IT strategy as well as the area of digitalisation. The business economist with a degree in business administration studied marketing und organisation at the universities of Konstanz and Trier, Germany. He started his professional career as a project manager at various international consulting firms, with a focus on developing the organisation, human resources as well as the IT strategy.

Karin Zumtobel-Chammah, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the Zumtobel Group, commented: "The management of the Zumtobel Group already initiated important steps to digitise our offer and our internal processes, but now we are entering a new phase of integrating digital technologies in all areas of the company. It's a matter of how the Zumtobel Group will organise and position itself in order to create lasting added value for all shareholders in the future, and we have to get all employees on board for this journey. I am very pleased that we have been able to win over Marcus Frantz, a renowned expert for this topic."

The Management Board of the Zumtobel Group had already defined the objective in the 2021/22 financial year to implement end-to-end digitised process workflows and to increasingly offer digital services and products with enhanced functionalities as part of the revised corporate strategy FOCUSED. To achieve this, a multi-year transformation programme was developed and its implementation has been successfully launched. A first milestone on the path to digital transformation was already set in the past financial year with the introduction of a new customer relations management system in the DACH region.
