SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES Introduces New SILEX production system for high-efficiency solar cells

Kahl am Main, 11 May 2022 – SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES presents a new version of its fully automated SILEX batch manufacturing system for the production of high-efficiency solar cells. With the SILEX III the company offers a wet-chemical system, which is suitable for conventional solar technologies (PERC) as well as for high-performance cells such as heterojunction (HJT), TOPCon and IBC due to its modular design. The newly developed SILEX system is particularly characterized by high throughput and maximum productivity for all wafer sizes from M0 to M12plus as well as for half cells.

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES has already sold numerous of these new high-performance systems for the production of HJT solar cells. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Rinck, CEO SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES: "With our production machine SILEX we are an important component in many production lines for the manufacturing of heterojunction solar cells worldwide. Our SILEX has been successfully used by our customers for many years. We have further optimized the texturing processes of the machine to significantly reduce production costs and space requirements."

With the SILEX III SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES offers the solar market a machine with high modularity and flexibility and thus optimally responds to the different requirements for IPA-free, alkaline texturing processes in the production of high-performance solar cells. By using the specially developed and proven SINGULUS ozone system, the SILEX III significantly reduces the chemical consumption and thus also the operating costs and CO2 balance compared to conventional texturing and etching systems.

The SILEX III concept meets all requirements regarding productivity, quality, capacity, flexibility, and stability in the industrial production of crystalline solar cells with capacities of up to 14000 wafers per hour depending on the configuration.
