Wolftank-Adisa Holding AG: Wolftank-Adisa announces cooperation with Snam S.p.A.

Innsbruck (pta028/23.04.2021/14:47 UTC+2) Wolftank-Adisa Holding AG, based in Innsbruck, is pleased to announce its cooperation with the Italian gas supplier Snam S.p.A.:

Snam4Mobility, a Snam Group company active in the field of sustainable mobility, and Wolftank Hydrogen, a company of the Austrian Wolftank- Adisa Group specialised in hydrogen and renewable energy production and distribution facilities, have started a collaboration aimed at promoting hydrogen mobility through the construction of refuelling stations for cars, buses and trucks.

After signing a memorandum of understanding, the two companies are evaluating infrastructure initiatives to enable the use of hydrogen in the transport sector in Italy. The first initiative is a joint expression of interest in response to a request from the Institute for Technological Innovation (IIT) in Bolzano for the construction of new refuelling stations along the Brenner motorway (A22).

Snam4Mobility and Wolftank Hydrogen plan to combine their respective competences in the technological and infrastructural fields soon with concrete and binding agreements to promote the introduction of hydrogen as a green and renewable carrier for the decarbonisation of transport. Both companies are members of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance (http://ech2a.eu). Currently, there is only one public refuelling station for hydrogen vehicles in Italy, in Bolzano, which was built in 2012.

Snam will be able to use the know-how acquired in the hydrogen sector, also through its own business unit, to develop sustainable mobility projects. The company's strategic plan is to build a sustainable refuelling infrastructure of at least five hydrogen stations by 2024.
Wolftank Hydrogen expects strong growth in the market for hydrogen refuelling stations in Europe and worldwide, as several non-European countries and states such as Japan, China and California plan to put one million fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) each on the road by 2030, with the associated need for production and logistics infrastructure.

Key competencies will be storage and management of process software for compression, temperature control and dispensers.

Wolftank Hydrogen and Snam4Mobility are in concrete discussions aimed at expanding the cooperation to the neighbouring markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
