Vertical farming in a VR live experience at the global platform for innovative agriculture

Hamburg and Ludwigsfelde, 10 June 2025 – Veganz Group AG (WKN: A3E5ED / symbol: VEZ), a leading innovator in plant-based food technologies, and Körber Technologies GmbH - part of the international technology group Körber - providing customised solutions in areas such as machinery and equipment for the food industry, are presenting the groundbreaking Orbifarm® technology at GreenTech Amsterdam.

With the innovative OrbiFarm® technology platform, high-quality staple foods and medicinal plants can be cultivated anywhere in the world, regardless of climate and environmental influences, in a cost-effective and economically viable manner in a hall (vertical indoor farming).

The technologies developed and tested in recent years in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME have been brought to industrial-scale production readiness by Körber Technologies.

The results of the OrbiFarm® cultivation trials with pea plants at the Fraunhofer Institute were very successful in terms of yield, quality, reproducibility, safety and economic efficiency. The yield was up to 36 times higher than with conventional cultivation and could be further optimised, for example, through CO2 fumigation.

The entire biomass, i.e. fruit, plant and root, can be used for further processing into protein raw materials for industry, which further increases yield and efficiency dramatically. This results in a level of economic efficiency that allows indoor farming with the advantages of controlled environmental conditions.

Körber Technologies GmbH and Veganz Group AG, the exclusive global licensee of the technology, will present the Orbifarm® technology at GreenTech in RAI Amsterdam from 10 to 12 June 2025. The technology can be experienced first-hand at stand 03.117A, among other places, using VR glasses.
