7C Solarparken AG: Q1'25 Results
Bayreuth (pta012/28.05.2025/08:36 UTC+2)
7C Solarparken announced its Q1'25 results which were fully in line with interim guidance. Electricity production was up by 18% to 66 GWh equivalent to 149 kWh/kWp (Q1' 24: 133 kWh/kWp), boosted by good weather conditions and a series of new parks entering service. Still, the potential of power output has not been fully reached due to an unplanned outage period of the GE wind turbine in Medard and theft of inverters and cables in two large PV sites. Furthermore, a growing number of negative prices as from1 March 2025 has led to many commercial curtailments and ReDispatch measures by the grid operators.
Revenues rose by 10% to 10.6 Mio EUR with EBITDA even climbing by 21% to 8.4 Mio EUR amongst others related to the gain on sale of an existing asset of 750 kWp. Net debt fell back from 138 Mio EUR at 31 March 2024 to 115 Mio EUR on 31 March 2025 driven by solid cash flow generation and a slowdown in capex initiatives over the last twelve months. Outlook for the current year remains unchanged so far in spite of better-than-expected irradiation during April and May, but it also reflects a more uncertain pricing context. The market situation in the month of May has been nothing less than unprecedented: a record of negative prices and a historically low capture ratio may result in a monthly PV price in the range an estimated EUR 20-25/MWH.
Steven De Proost, CEO of 7C Solarparken, comments: " The growing imbalance between stagnating power demand and ever-increasing PV capacity additions should in our estimation lead to an adjustment of German targets for the energy transition. A status-quo scenario will also be harmful for existing PV installations as they will face shorter period of feed-in remuneration due to negative prices. On the other hand, the status quo will create chances for batteries. We therefore initiate an entry in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) under a co-location scheme combining our PV infrastructure with batteries of similar capacity. The first projects have been identified and will enter the development phase."
