As planned, Dr. Markus Arendt took up his position as CEO of Dr. Hönle AG on May 1, 2024. He succeeds Dr. Franz Richter, who was appointed to the Executive Board by the Supervisory Board for a year. Franz Richter returns to the Supervisory Board and takes over the chairmanship again. Mr. Niklas Friedrichsen took over the chairmanship of the supervisory board during the time of the assignment.

"We are extremely pleased that Markus Arendt has decided to lead our company as CEO," said Franz Richter, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Dr. Hönle AG. "He has demonstrated both his technical expertise and his leadership skills in various management positions for more than two decades. In his career to date, he has managed and successfully expanded global business activities. He also brings the desired industry and customer experience, which he has gained in several technology companies."

Markus Arendt (57), whose management contract initially runs until April 30, 2027, has many years of experience as a managing director and division manager at internationally active industrial companies. Most recently, he was managing director of the German subsidiary of MKS Instruments, Inc., a supplier to the semiconductor industry listed on the NASDAQ. Previously, he worked at SUSS MicroTec SE for 15 years, where he served, among other positions, as head of the business unit Lithography and as managing director of SUSS Photonic Systems Inc., Corona, USA. The graduate industrial engineer earned his doctorate at the University of Heidelberg and the Karlsruhe Research Center, today's KIT - Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

"With its product and technology spectrum, the Hönle Group is already active in attractive growth markets. I am looking forward to contribute my industry knowledge in Advanced Packaging and my international experience, particularly in the USA and Asia, to the further development of the group."
