Dr. Hönle AG: Hönle Group increases consolidated result by 26 %

Graefelfing, Munich (pta006/15.12.2017/08:05 UTC+1) Preliminary figures indicate a 9.1 % rise in Hönle Group's revenues to TEur 101,926 in the financial year 2016/2017. The operating result (EBIT) improved by 22.6 % to TEur 15,207. Earnings before taxes climbed by 23.5 % to TEur 14,877 and the consolidated result rose by 25.6 % to TEur 10, 414, corresponding to earnings per share of Eur 1.89 (PY: Eur 1.50).
The positive business development is also reflected in improved earnings margins: The EBIT margin rose from 12.9 % to 14.8 % and net profit on sales from 8.9 % to 10.2 %.

Outlook
For the 2017/2018 financial year, the management expects rising revenues and earnings contributions in the Equipment & Systems segment. This is expected to result from the estimated positive business development concerning drying plants for offset printing and digital print and the increased demand for hardening systems for adhesives used in the electronic industry, in particular.

Prospects are also favourable in the Glass & Lamps segment. Raesch Quarz (Germany) GmbH will, in particular, contribute to this. Following completion of technical optimization processes and the start of operations of the new resize centre for quartz glass tubes with a diameter of up to one meter, a further rise in revenues and positive contributions to earnings are expected in the current financial year.

After a very successful financial year 2016/2017, a jump in revenues and earnings is also assumed for the Adhesives segment, driven mainly by consumer electronics. Adhesives produced by the Panacol Group are increasingly used for smart devices such as smartphones and tablets. The customer base was enlarged, the number of adhesives applications was extended in the growth markets, in particular, and new competitive adhesives were developed, providing the basis for positive business development in the future also.

In its last week's press release, the Hönle Group raised its forecast significantly as a result of the expected strong business development, primarily in the Adhesives segment. Given unchanged economic conditions, the Hönle management aims at revenues of Eur 115 to 125 million in the financial year 2017/2018 and an operating result of Eur 22 to 26 million.

The annual report 2016/2017 will be published on 29 January 2018 and will be available on the Internet under https://www.hoenle.com/investor-relation/financial-publications.
