Wien, 1. August 2013 - The new diode laser Leonardo® from the medical technology company biolitec® offers a completely new world of therapeutic applications and clinical results. It is the most versatile and universally medical laser available on the market today and opens up far-reaching opportunities for improving the treatment results for the patients. The modern Leonardo® Laser from biolitec® is fitted with a user-friendly touch-screen control and is easy to install. The user has the choice between two preset modes, or may choose independent settings such as one green or red beam. The highly compact and space-conserving laser system has a combination of 2 wavelengths -980 nm and 1,470 nm - and offers a large number of different effects on the tissue to be treated. Each wavelength can be selected either on its own or jointly, in order to coordinate the desired effect perfectly on the tissue, such as in the cases of a cut, excision, vaporization, hemostasis or coagulation of soft tissue in contact and non-contact with open and endoscopic methods. The intuitive 2D Power Control(TM) system of the Leonardo® Laser permits the user to choose a combination of different wavelengths and energy settings with a simple touch on the screen. The desired effects on the tissue can be adapted suitably to the therapeutic region by using the appropriate settings.
Moreover, the laser can be used for interdisciplinary applications and offers low-maintenance diodes with long service life. For the first time, the users can perform laser surgery selectively in a way that is customized for the type of tissue. The intelligent fiber connection also enables the user to connect the right fibers to the laser and in doing so rules out hazards that can be caused by by the use of unsuitable fibers. Furthermore, it prevents use beyond the service life of the product and it is also provided with an electronic signature for enhanced patient satisfaction.

biolitec® is one of the most technologically advanced providers / developers of fiber optic products in the world. The Leonardo Laser has been designed to combine the special medical fibers and the application kits of biolitec®. The Leonardo® is available for delivery with immediate effect.
