Philomaxcap AG: Management and supervisory board downsized

This completes the handover work and the previous board member Robert Zeiss will leave the board at the end of today. First as a member of the supervisory board and lateron of the management board, he worked for the company for a total of 13 years. He thanks all former and active colleagues and companions and wishes those responsible all the best and good luck with the further development of Philomaxcap AG.

At the same time, the deputy chairman of the supervisory board, Andreas Geisler, announced that he would leave the supervisory board at the end of June 30, 2021. The members related to the majority shareholder Nyuk Ming Wan, Chor Hian Lim and Chian Yin Ng will remain on the Supervisory Board, which means that the quorum is still ensured. A decision has not yet been made about a possible replacement or a reduction in the number of Supervisory Board members.

Robert Bidwell Bibow (54) will represent the company as sole director in the future. Currently he also serves as a Senior Managing Director at Parkway Ventures, Managing Partner Emeritus and Shareholder in Alumni Ventures Group, the 3rd most active venture investment group in the United States and the 7th most active venture investor globally.

Robert specializes in developing high-growth companies with a particular focus on sustainable energy, technology, emerging and disruptive innovations, and ventures that bridge financial opportunities, spanning Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Robert is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor whose previous early and mid-stage personal and professional investments have resulted in over a dozen high-profile exits, and public offerings on major exchanges, including: Lyft (USD25 billion IPO), Qihoo 360 (USD62 billion IPO), Coursera (USD4.5 billion IPO), Rong360 (USD3.5 billion IPO), Casper (USD575 million IPO), Accolade (USD1.2 billion IPO), Mobileye (USD15 billion acquisition by Intel) and Compass (USD7 billion IPO).

Robert has also been an early investor in private firms with significant venture capital commitments and value growth, including: Better Mortgage (USD4 billion current valuation), Impossible Foods (USD4 billion current valuation), Didi Chuxing (USD57.6 billion current valuation), Ola (USD6.5 billion current valuation), Dataminr (USD1.9 billion current valuation) and SenseTime (USD7 billion current valuation).

Before joining Alumni Ventures Group, Robert was Managing Director, Partner, and member of the Investment and Risk Committees of Hong Kong and Shanghai-based Sailing Capital, a venture capital fund with USD1.2 billion of assets under management.

Prior to Sailing Capital, Robert advised a series of ultra-high net worth individuals on venture capital and private equity investments, including very early investors in: Skype, Mail.ru and the precursor firm to Virgin Media. Robert also served as Partner and Global Head of Direct Co-Investments for Atlantic-Pacific Capital in London.

Prior to working in venture capital and private equity, Robert served as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs, UBS, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank. As an investment banker Robert worked globally, living extensively in: New York, London, Zurich, Beijing, and Hong Kong. He worked as an advisor on M&A, debt, hybrid and equity transactions with an aggregate value of approximately USD100 billion. Among these were, the acquisition and financing of RJR Nabisco by KKR, which to this day remains one of the largest leveraged buyouts ever completed, the demutualisation of Prudential Financial, one of the largest demutualisations in U.S. history, and the IPO for China Life, China's largest life insurance company.

Robert has lived in: Canada, China, France, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia Business School, a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College and speaks four languages.
