ItN Nanovation AG: Ceramic UF Membrane from ItN will be used as pre-treatment technology in a seawater desalination project in Kazakhstan

The technology of ItN Nanovation AG (ISIN DE000A0JL461) is to be used in a desalination project in Aktau, Kazakhstan, won by SafBon.

The construction of a seawater desalination plant located on the shores of the Caspian Sea in Aktau, a famous oil city in Kazakhstan, was awarded to the SafBon consortium, following an international bidding process. A membrane area of 16,000 m2 is foreseen. The completion of the project that supplies the inhabitants of Aktau with clean drinking water is planned for 2020.

Following the opening ceremony where the Governor of the Aktau region, Yeraly Tugzhanov, and Hilling Chang, Chairman of the SafBon group, met, the use of ItN Ceramic UF Membrane technology was announced. Decisive factors in particular were the prolonged life time as well as the unique properties of the ItN ceramic UF membrane and the big number of reference projects with the use of ItN technology.
